Drawing is Playing

Why did so many of us "used to" love drawing? How old do you have to be to make a bad drawing? Why is a child so focused on drawing something you can't understand? What makes us scared to draw a bicycle?
These are the questions we'll be investigating in this class. This is not a "how to draw" class. We will be doing art exercises, sharing them with our classmates, and trying to learn something about why drawing is so deeply connected to what we call "creativity". This is a good class for someone who has not drawn since they were very small, or someone who loved drawing but has drifted apart from it.
No artistic talent or formal experience is required to be part of this class. Students only need an active interest in picture making, the relationship between our hands and creativity, and curiosity.
All materials will be provided but participants are invited to bring up to 2 of their favorite drawing tools.
We offer sliding scale pricing on all classes. Learn more about what that means here. Use code SLIDINGCLASS to take 25% off the ticket price.
