Sliding Scale Pricing

In an effort to make arts programming and education available to as many neighbors as possible, Acorn Craft Shop is offering sliding-scale payment for all classes. We trust you decide what works best for you and your circumstances. Know that if you are able to pay more, you will be helping to provide access to other members of the community who are paying less!

General Ticket

This is what it takes the run the class. This is our “regular priced” seat.

Sliding Scale Ticket

This is a price adjusted seat. Reasons to choose Level 1 might include: Medical expenses, chronic illness (inhibits your potential earning power), significant debt (including student loans), immigration fees, rehabilitation fees, receipt of government assistance, etc.

Supporter Ticket

This price helps cover another seat. Reasons to choose Level 3 might include: Part-time work by choice, recreational travel, inherited money or access to family money in time of need, investments (stocks, bonds), higher education, etc.

This sliding scale has been inspired by many local CSAs, shops, and schools that have been shifting to a solidarity economy. We have taken guidance and examples from 670 CSA's model in particular. We have also been inspired by educational spaces like the School for Poetic Computation and Cleo's Yarn Shop that offer scholarship and reduced price seats as a matter of course.
