About the Shop

Acorn Craft Shop is a locally owned arts & craft supply shop that sells yarn, fiber arts tools, drawing and painting supplies, and creative kits for all ages. We believe that creative effort is a fun and transformative process, and it's made even more meaningful when shared with friends and neighbors. If you make things with your hands, we have something for you.

The best creative spaces must also be community spaces! So we keep the doors open in the evenings for craft nights and classes, and will always aim to make events as accessible as possible. We believe in solidarity with our neighbors and that there is enough for all of us. Hope to see you soon!

Christina

Christina (she/her) is the owner of Acorn Craft Shop. Before the shop she's worked as an art educator, a childrens book designer, and product designer on projects across gaming and edutech. She's passionate about creative practice and being a enthusiastic amateur. Now she spends her days gabbing with customers, teaching, and trying to make Acorn the best place it can be.

Ask me about: yarn math, knit/crochet project planning, watercolor, drawing, (making art with & raising) young kids, pedagogy, anything you're curious about regarding the shop.

Kay

Kay (they/them) is a multidisciplinary artist, designer, and creative technologist. They have worked as a production coordinator and art director along being a freelance costume designer. Their costumes have been seen onstage at Bonnaroo, House of Yes, Bushwig, and RuPaul's Drag Race. If you have a question about how to make a "weird project", Kay will be able to point you in the right direction.

Aatmaja

Aatmaja (she/they) is a comic artist, illustrator, and friend to all creatures. She self-publishes comics and zines about relationships, love, longing, and finding once's place. Her debut graphic novel, Slip, was published by Hachette in 2022. Aatmaja is also a talented risograph printer, flower-presser, and junk journaler.

Ruby-Summer

Ruby-Summer (she/her) is a fiber artist and organizer with experience knitting, crochet, sewing, weaving, needle/wet felting, cross stitch, and embroidery. She is also a core member of Knot Okay Club, a non-profit that promotes self-care, mental health, and community for Black women and non-binary people through fiber arts. She has deep material knowledge and a talent for clearly explaining technical details.

Lynne

Lynne (she/her) is a Korean-American typeface designer, technologist, educator, and she illustrated and painted our mural at the shop! She designs and self-publishes work as Space Type, a multi-disciplinary design studio and risograph print shop.
